The larger problem is that I figured out how to capture the data that is being transmitted to the PC, but I can't make any sense of it. My guess is because the integrator needs to be in Remote mode for this to happen, but I can't seem to get it in that mode. The smaller of the two problems is that I can't seem to get the PC to successfully communicate commands to the integrator. I also have used Hyperterminal and found that the connection in fact does work. I have hooked up the integrator to the comm port of a PC as advised above. It also has the advantages like flexibility.OK. By means of Visual Basic cost effective solution is possible as Visual Basic we do not need to purchase licenses and is cheaper than SCADA packages. Here we show simple approach to communicate Delta PLC with visual Basic using MSComm control in visual basic. Using VB 6.0 we integrate software and hardware across spectrum of vendors easily. Visual Basic 6.0 platform can be usedĭevelop the SCADA application effectively. The SCADA software’s are the software packages needs to be purchased from vendors and the cost depends on tag count. They also record/log the system data for long period. These are nothing but SCADA systems widely used for determining plant set-ups and displaying plant status on high quality screens. Computers are used as a link between humans and PLC systems as they have more graphics and visual capabilities. The communication between DVP14SS and Visual Basic 6.0 is via Modbus Serial This paper is to enable the Delta PLC (Programmable Logic Control) DVP14SS to communicate with the Visual Basic 6.0.
